About Half Moon Lake Resort

Half Moon Lake is named for its appearance – a crescent-shaped body of fresh water that is approximately 2 kilometers (1.2 mi) in length, 250 meters (820 ft) wide and a maximum of 8.5 meters (28 ft) deep. The lake has fish and is great for swimming.  The resort is open from May 15th to October 15th  and has 293 campsites, washroom facilities, a developed beach, a playground, groceries, recreational rentals (mini-golf, FREE Horseshoe pits, fishing rods), walking trails, and other amenities. For those that need to stay connected, we offer WiFi hot spots at the office and store.

The Resort and RV Park also has several group campsite and event areas suitable for large gatherings such as family reunions, weddings and corporate gatherings.

Half Moon Lake Resort is situated on 139 acres of forested land, 35 minutes South East of Edmonton.

History of Half Moon Lake Resort

The land was built into a campground in 1961, with a few campsites located at the south end of the lake.  The campground has grown over the years to include a beach area, pavilion building with deck and dock out into the water.  There are several washroom buildings, office and store. Over the years, Half Moon Lake Resort has built 276 sites, including 196 fully serviced sites, several group camping areas and day-use areas, including a playground and beach.  The existing campground is situated on 40 acres of the 139 acre property.  There are approximately 100 acres of forests with walking and ATV trails.

The resort has passed through many hands over the 51 years of its existence; the new owners and management are dedicated to making Half Moon Lake Resort the premiere resort in the greater Edmonton area.
